September: A Special Evening at Inman Gallery

We are delighted to invite you to a private reception with artist Angela Fraleigh at Inman Gallery, the evening before her solo exhibition "I have decided not to be hungry" opens to the public. Fraleigh's paintings move between the rendered and the dissolved, holding questions of gender, sexuality, femininity, and power in the same frame, with figures drawn from art history pulled forward out of the compositions that once contained them. You will see the newest body of work first, hear how she builds a painting, and talk with her about the histories and narratives running underneath it. An evening for the work, the artist, and the community that keeps Houston's contemporary scene as good as it is.
